I was copying and pasting my website's example and forgot to keep changing it to your date. Also, it probably takes up all of one tenth of a penny of power over the course of a year, so I think you'll be ok. It definitely can't be bad compared to running Wordpress.

I've done that in the past around the time of my birthday, but I think it's computationally wasteful to have it up other than when it's necessary. (Yes, the amount of cycles wasted is probably ridiculously negligible, but I can't help but think that way... especially since my host is going to start billing for CPU usage sometime.)

Also, I like how I got younger in your example.

Wordpress ate it again:

<?php get_header();
//My Age, in PHP
$year = date("Y");
$month = date("n");
$day = date("j");
$my_age = $year - 1991;
if (($month < 12) || ($month == 12 && $day < 11)) { $my_age--; } // Precise date correction

Put this in your sidebar instead:

<?php get_header();
//My Age, in PHP
$year = date("Y");
$month = date("n");
$day = date("j");
$my_age = $year - 1989;
if (($month < 7) || ($month == 7 && $day

Then put wherever you want to write your age and PRESTO! No more need to automatically update your age.

Happy Birthday!

When you update your sidebar, go for "20-something" so that you won't have to update it every year. That's what I do, but I'm lazy that way.
