I must disagree with your theory that LiveJournal posts are stream of consciousness for the sole reason that those yahoos out in the hall don't have consciousness.

i agree with scotto. livejournal usually is stream-of-consciousness because everyone wants to be like holden caulfield in this "crumby" world. but there is an exception: several times, when something major happened to me, i would plan out how i'd write it [in my head, of course] so it would come out a little nicer than usually, but still pretty bad.

i'm using safari right now in dr. shipe's class, ironically enough. i only use it because it's faster than internet explorer at school.

Thanks for the shout-out, and good luck on your coming romantic endeavors!

I suspect that you're right about LJ's Stream of consciousness nature.

The last comment I did just disappeared. The sum of it was that anyone can show up to the semi-interesting deal tomorrow, and I found the singing soap passage (which was not as interesting the second time around):
THE SOAP:
We're a capital couple are Bloom and I.
He brightens the earth. I polish the sky.

Hmm... SOMEone can borrow _Portrait_ when he finishes the book he's reading. Hint, etc.

I know you've been reading Ulysses. How else would I have found out that the middle part of the book is like a play, and that inanimate objects talk and sing?

It's mysterious how the non-lofty "reading" ended up on the morning show and all. It would be funny if someone found out about it that way and decided to drop by. I mean, it would be interesting. Interesting.

I hate to be stomping on your lofty view of this "reading," but the story is much simpler than the one you present. See, I've been carrying around a copy of _Ulysses_ because I've been reading it not because Joyce's birthday is tomorrow. This special afterschool deal is just going to be TJ and I (I'm not even sure why it showed up on the morning show). Thank you to everyone who volunteered to participate. That said, Dr Shipe now has his copy of the 1961 correction (the same one I have) in his classroom, and TJ is borrowing his 1984 (cough, cough) edition. I'm assuming all three will be used tomorrow, seeing as the group is fairly large... Wikipedia still hasn't responded to my request that they use a quote of Joyce's as the daily quote. Also: I win the short story competition (and assoc. cash) because no one else entered. Ha! I believe this is the first time a Joyce tribute has won that competition...
