Most Cider is Not alcoholic, you'll know it is by the price you pay. While sparkling cider works allright, but I recommend using the fresh cider available around the fall months, to me it has more of a well rounded flavor. Also since the fresh cider has less of the sugar fermented/processed out, I also find that I don't need as much brown sugar. Great Recipe Though! A new holiday Favorite!

We just made this and for our first go, we tried it with 151 rum, but we DO NOT ENCOURAGE THAT!!!!! It made it taste pretty awful, but when we excluded the alcohol, it was okay. It pretty much tastes like cider, and like she said, you can't taste the butter, but was still pretty cozy for our night :) The next HP movie comes out on my 22nd birthday next year so we're practicing all the recipes for our feast, haha!

I think that without the cider, it would be undrinkable because it would just be ice cream. We used sparkling cider that was non-alcoholic. From the photos, the brand is apparently called Martinelli's. This seems to be it.

Cider is alcoholic. If I were to exclude it, would the taste be any different? If it is different, then are there anything non-alcoholic that tastes similar to cider?
